Fantastic Managed Kubernetes!

I am so happy with Hostman! I deployed a Managed Kubernetes cluster last week and it was an absolute breeze. The interface was so intuitive, much easier than other providers I've tried. Everything worked perfectly right out of the box. The performance has been excellent for my application, and I love that it's GDPR compliant. I will absolutely be using them again for future projects and have already told my colleague about it. Great service!

Consistent performance, as usual

I've been using Hostman for about a year now for various projects. This time, I set up a PostgreSQL Hosting instance. As with my previous orders, the deployment was smooth and the database is running reliably. I appreciate the consistency in their service. It's why I keep coming back when I need new infrastructure. They've always delivered on what they promise, which is important for my workload. The uptime for my older sites has been solid too.

Good value for App Platform

I was looking for a good deal on an App Platform and Hostman popped up. I signed up for the free trial credit which gave me $50 to start. It was enough to test out the platform for a few weeks before committing. The pricing seems fair overall, especially with the annual commitment discount. I felt like I got good value for what I paid. Definitely worth checking out if you're on a budget.

Easy Docker container hosting

So, I needed to host some Docker containers for a side project. My friend told me about Hostman, so I gave it a shot. Setting it up was pretty straightforward, surprisingly. I didn't run into any weird errors or anything. The containers spun up fast, like, quicker than I thought. It's been running fine since then. No complaints, it just worked, you know? Good experience overall.

Can I stack a referral code with a new user credit? Or is it one or the other?

C Cody E. 2 months ago
Nah, I don't think you can stack them. Afaik, it's usually one type of credit per account.

From what I remember, credits are generally separate. You get the new user credit, and then maybe referral credits apply differently. They don't usually 'stack' like that for initial sign-ups.

Does anyone know if Hostman is any good compared to DigitalOcean? Like for managed k8s and stuff. Not looking to get locked into something meh.

C Cody 2 months ago
I switched from DO for my personal projects. Hostman's K8s feels a bit more refined, and the European data centers are a plus for GDPR if that matters to you.

It's pretty comparable, honestly. Hostman has good support and I found their pricing transparent. For managed K8s, I'd say it's a solid alternative, maybe even better if you want that EU focus.

Hey, thinking about trying Hostman for a new project. What's the deal with free credits for new accounts? Like, how much do you actually get to play around with?

L Lisa 2 months ago
Yeah, they usually give you like $50-100 bucks credit. Enough to try out a few things for sure.

I got $75 when I signed up last year. It lasted me a good month testing out some Kubernetes stuff before I had to commit. Pretty sweet deal.

Quick question about the student discount. Is there an actual code or how do you apply for it? Need to get my dev environment set up on a budget.

C Colin 2 months ago
I think you usually apply through some program or link, not a direct code. Check their site for student dev programs.

Yeah, it's usually tied to their student developer program. You'd probably need to verify your student status. I'd just hit up their support or check the 'Credits' section in the dashboard, sometimes there's info there.

Are their servers actually in Europe? Need to make sure my data stays within EU borders for compliance reasons.

I Ivy Bennett 3 months ago
Totally, that's one of their main selling points. All their infrastructure is in Europe.

Yep, they're big on GDPR. I'm pretty sure all their data centers are in Europe. You can usually pick the region when you set up your stuff.
